Who can use StrangerYaar
You must be 18 or older. Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 are removed.
The rules
- No nudity, sexual content or sexual harassment.
- No harassment, bullying, threats or hate speech.
- No spam, scams, advertising or asking for money.
- Don't share anyone's personal information, including your own contact details with strangers.
- Don't impersonate StrangerYaar staff or anyone else.
- Don't try to break, overload or get around the service's safety features.
- Follow the laws that apply to you where you live, and Indian law (including the Information Technology Act, 2000), because the service is run from India.
Moderation
We may review reported chats, remove content, and suspend or ban accounts and devices that break these rules, with or without notice. You can appeal a ban by emailing [email protected].
Your content
You are responsible for what you send. You keep ownership of it, and give us permission to store and deliver it as needed to run the service.
Premium and payments
Premium is optional and sold as plans for a fixed time, each paid once through Cashfree (in India: UPI, cards, net banking or wallets; outside India: international cards, in US dollars). The plans on sale right now:
- ₹19 ($0.59 outside India) for 1 day
- ₹59 ($1.99 outside India) for 7 days (1 week)
- ₹149 ($4.99 outside India) for 30 days
Prices and plans may change; the price and length shown when you pay are what you get. Premium does not renew automatically, and buying again adds the new plan's time on top of any time you have left. Premium needs a saved account (email or Google).
Refunds: if you were charged but Premium didn't switch on, or you were charged twice, email [email protected] with your Cashfree payment ID within 7 days and we'll refund you to the original payment method within 7 working days. Because Premium starts immediately, we don't otherwise refund unused days. If your account is banned for breaking these terms, remaining Premium time is not refunded. No guarantees
StrangerYaar is provided as is. We can't control what strangers say, and we're not responsible for other users' behaviour, but we act on reports.
Grievance officer
Under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, complaints can be sent to our grievance officer at [email protected]. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
Reporting illegal content (EU Digital Services Act)
Anyone, in any country, can tell us about content they think is illegal by tapping Report in a chat or by emailing [email protected] with what happened and why you think it is illegal. This address is also our single point of contact for authorities and for users in the EU. We review notices promptly, tell you what we decided, and if we remove content or restrict an account we tell the person why and how to appeal.
Where the service is run from
StrangerYaar is operated from India and is open to adults worldwide. By using it you accept that your information is processed in India, as described in our privacy policy. If a law in your country does not allow you to use a service like this, please don't use it.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make important changes, we'll let you know in the app.
